About
Jeremy Jacobs

Jeremy Jacobs was born and raised in the suburbs of Kansas City. He went across Missouri to St. Louis to receive his Bachelors in Music in Music Direction for Musical Theatre from Webster University. While there, he was a full tuition Presidential Scholar, got his minor in German, and a Certificate in Business Leadership. Incredibly active in the student body, he was a founder and the music director for Webster's premier A Cappella group the "Chordloks." He also served as the Artistic Director and Music Director for the student run theatre group, Ping! A Performing Arts Collective. He spent a semester overseas in London, England studying theatre arts.
After graduating, Jeremy began his music directing career at STAGES St. Louis, music directing their 2021 Season including Jersey Boys and Always... Patsy Cline. He then moved to New York City where he is an active music director, playwright, teaching artist, copyist, and pianist. Additional selected regional credits include We’ll Meet Again (National Tour), 3 Summers of Lincoln (La Jolla Playhouse), Come From Away (Theatre Aspen), May We All (The Rev), the pilot productions of Alice by Heart, Jagged Little Pill, and Suffs, (The Beacon School), Patches: A New Musical, A Year With Frog and Toad (Piknik Theatre), Driven: A New Song Cycle (54Below), Urinetown, A New Brain (The Sargent Conservatory at Webster University).

As a writer, Jeremy is working on many projects in development. His original play, "SAVAGE," follows Robert Savage, a composer struggling to finish his last composition as the effects of AIDS takes over his body in 1993; “Empire of Dirt,” a country jukebox musical where a backwoods country town in the American South gets visited by a wandering cowboy; and “Autopilot,” a new musical based on true events following what happens when a family doesn’t acknowledge or deal with their grief.
​Alongside these creative endeavors, Jeremy is an active teaching artist at various educational theatre programs across the country like A Class Act, I Can Do That NYC, and TADA! Youth Theatre in New York City, and Piknik Theatre in Steamboat Springs, CO. At Piknik Theatre, he composed the music for their 2023 Community Collaboration Production of Peter Pan. He also serves as the Music Director of the choral ensembles and theatre department at The Beacon School in Manhattan. ​
